Extiel's Synthesized Product Slate

Light Fully-Synthesized Paraffinic Fluids

IsoKane 190S™ is Extiel’s lightest F-T product with carbon chains in the C6 to C11 range. This light solvent is non-toxic, water-clear, BTEX-free and biodegradable with low vapor pressure. IsoKane 190S™ has numerous applications with performance exceeding that of the petroleum-derived solvents it replaces.

Some common applications for IsoKane 190S™:

  • Cleaning Solvents
  • Varnish & Paint Solvents
  • Personal Care
  • Spray Lubricants

Heavy Fully-Synthesized Paraffinic Fluids

IsoKane 305S™ is the next heavier product in the C10– C18 carbon range. This medium solvent is non-toxic, water-clear, BTEX-free and biodegradable, with low vapor pressure. IsoKane 305S™ has numerous applications with performance exceeding that of the petroleum-derived solvents it replaces.

Some common applications for IsoKane 305S™:

  • Fuel Additives
  • Mold Release Agents
  • Drilling Fluids
  • Agricultural Solvents

Group IV Alternative (G4A) Base Oil

Also known as Fully Synthetic Lube Oil is a 2 or 4 centistoke (cSt), high demand product in the C18 to C40 carbon range. G4A properties include very low cold crank, 150 VI, low NOACK Volatility, and other properties superior to PAO, the otherwise highest performing base oil available on the open market.

Some common applications for G4A:

  • PCMO (passenger car motor oil)
  • HDEO (heavy duty equipment oil)
  • ICO (industrial equipment oil)
  • ATF (automatic transmission fluid)
  • MWF (metal working fluid)
  • Industrial Coatings
  • PAO (PolyAlphaOlefin) alternative
  • Asphalt Modification
  • Cosmetics & Pharmaceuticals
  • Inks
  • Chemicals
  • Many Others

F-T Wax

The heaviest product from Extiel’s GTL process is not a liquid at all, at least not at room temperature.  High purity synthetic F-T Wax has a carbon chain length of C36 and greater and is kept in the liquid state (at elevated temperature) throughout the process until it is finally ready for packaging.  The liquid wax is pumped to a granulator where it is flash frozen into small particles having a sugar-like consistency.  The granulated wax is packaged into super-sacs and other containers for sale and shipment. Molten wax is also available.

Hydrogen

Over 97% of the world’s “on purpose” hydrogen is produced from natural gas using Steam Methane Reformers (SMRs). Considered Best Available Technology (BAT), the most efficient SMRs release 91 grams of CO2 per MJ of H2 produced. H2 is considered “Low Carbon” when generated in a process that reduces CO2/MJ by 60% or more (<36.4 gCO2/MJH2) vs. BAT, independent of whether the feedstock is renewable or nonrenewable. Because Extiel’s hydrogen is a byproduct and the majority of the carbon entering the plant is sequestered in Specialty GTL Chemicals, that are not fuels to burn, our H2 meets and exceeds the Low Carbon threshold (pending third party verification). This “Green” label makes Extiel’s H2 more attractive and valuable to certain users and to the community.
